Jason Stanbury – Club Manager
Having been involved in health and fitness for over 9 years, my passion for the industry developed from an early age.
During this time I have had the privilege of training many individuals and teams. My personal highlights to date have been, becoming the strength and conditioning coach for New Zealand Woman’s Touch Rugby, and completing the Speight’s Coast to Coast both as a team and as an individual.
After completing my Certificate in Fitness Industry Training, I furthered my qualifications and completed a Degree in Physiotherapy in the United Kingdom, before returning home to Canterbury in 2009.
I believe it’s important to always have a goal to aim towards. For some it’s committing to an exercise regime. For others, it’s completing a marathon.
My goal is to make the club the kind of place you look forward to coming to. A place where you work hard, achieve your goals, and reward yourself.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. Aim high. The sky’s the limit.
Will Lonsdale
I am a born and raised Cantabrian and for the last 5 years I have been an aspiring professional sportsman. During that period I have encountered many different styles of training to improve strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination. I have two fitness-related qualifications; A National Certificate in Fitness through the New Zealand Institute of Health and Fitness (NZIHF) and a Certificate in Fitness Industry Training through C.P.I.T.
I also have 6 years coaching experience at a range of different levels, ages, abilities and group sizes. I have two current coaching qualifications but I am furthering myself by studying for a New Zealand Football Level 2 Youth qualification and a New Zealand Cricket Level 2 qualification as well.
I also operate my own personal training business from various locations throughout Christchurch.
With all this experience, my main goal is to make everyone and anyone who comes into the Clarendon Health Club happy and comfortable that they will be looked after properly and professionally – that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun as well!
Ness Harford
My passion for health & fitness stems from my early years. I was raised to enjoy the outdoors. It seemed every weekend my parents had organised an adventure somewhere. Before I had reached my teens I had experienced the beauty of New Zealand’s natural playground.
To balance the outdoors, from the age of five I was also involved with dancing. I enjoyed various styles of dance, from ballroom to interpretive. My favourite, ballet. After dancing for various schools & companies, also attaining teaching qualifications with NZAMD, I gave up dancing to get back outdoors.
Now after attaining my Certificate in Fitness Industry Training & REPs, I have my own Personal Training business, where I train people outdoors in various locations, as well as group outdoor training with Get Me Fit.
I enjoy getting involved with & competing in competitions such as City 2 Surf, Mud Sweat & Tears, & the SBS Marathon.
Exercise isn’t just about looking good, it’s about feeling great and enjoying not just the results, but the road you take to achieve them.
